Wizard News

6th January 2012
Well last year was pretty productive from our point of view. Debut album released, follow up recorded, europe toured (with our good friends Five Will Die, played with some our favourite bands and got to see many news places, faces & venues.

Again, a HUUUGE thank you to all the promoters who took the time to put us on, to all the people who took the time to review 'Pure Filth', to absolutely everyone who bothered to come & see us live and of course to those of you who purchased CDs or t-shirts. The response we got was unexpected to say the least.

So now we're in a new year, and the world's full of the same old shit (with a little extra sprinkled on top). So therefore we will be picking up where we left off. Our follow up album 'Four Tired Undertakers' is due for release on 10/02/12 through Altsphere Production and we're currently in the process of booking a European tour for the summer (if anyone wants to book us, or can help in any way with this, please contact us).

I must also say a big thank you (and one that I think will be echoed by a hell of a lot of underground bands) to Mr Jez Walshaw of Monster Riffage. Jez's enthusiasm for all music as well as his passion for documenting gigs and promoting the bands he likes is not only refreshing but incredibly helpful to us all. I know that personally we've got a hell of a lot of promo from some of the things he has done for us and we really do appreciate it.

Anyway, we hope to see you all at some point this year. We'll be gigging wherever we can again, and we'll be angrier than ever!

Right we'll be heading on tour across the uk & europe in September and have 3 spaces in our van. Anyone fancy a trip on tour with Wizard's Beard?

We'd be leaving England on Tuesday September 20th and returning the following Monday. It would cost £150 per person for the travel (towards van hire, fuel & ferries). If you'd like to join us, we'll also sort out your entrance to gigs on the tour.

Anyone fancy a doom trip round Europe? Just drop us an email: info@wizardsbeard.co.uk

Sorry for the massive lack of updates to this site in recent months. Personal things have got in the way along with moving house and having no internet along with many other bullshit excuses. Just call me a slacker!

In that time however we have been gigging (not nearly as much as we will be though, check the gigs page for details) and we have atleast kept that facebook rubbish up to date, albeit mostly with random ramblings.

Times are exciting, couple of independent festival appearances on the horizon, some european dates, lots of time with our favourite Irish filth hounds Five Will Die and of course the recording of album number 2.

Hopefully we'll be seeing plenty of you on the road!

Doom on,
Wizard's Beard

p.s - Massive thank you to everyone who's been to the gigs in recent times. There's been some blinders!
The Power Of Love - 20th April 2011
There were quite a lot of people who were kind enough to let me fool them in to gathering in a pub basement in the middle of a Sunday afternoon to record what was meant to be the (admittedly idiotic) bonus track on 'Pure Filth'.

Music world politics meant we couldn't afford to put this on the CD. But here it is, mainly for the people who made the effort to help us out:

Thank you everyone!

Our debut album 'Pure Filth' is now available from our online shop or from the psycheDOOMelic web shop.

Signing with psycheDOOMelic - 7th March 2011
We have signed with Austrian label psycheDOOMelic for the international release of 'Pure Filth'.

The album will be released in April 2011 and we will be selling it in our web shop.

To work with a label who put out the early Ramesses recordings is an absolute honour and we're looking forward to working with the team at pycheDOOMelic.
Album - 5th March 2011
I know the album is no longer available in our online shop.

There is a good reason for this, and we'll be letting you all know on Monday night.

Stay tuned for the announcement.
New Site - 28th Feb 2011
The new site's here (as you know, seen as you're reading this).

It's going to change continually for a little while as this design is just a quick fix. Keep your eye for more content and new design.

Doom on.
Album Launched - 20th Feb 2011
Massive thank you to everyone who came to the album launch last night. Place was rammed, bands were mint, was a quality night.

The album's now on sale here.
No Huey - 10th Feb 2011
We'd like to thank everyone who came down to record what we had hoped would become a hidden bonus track on the album.

We appreciate your willingness to act like idiots to help us out :-)

I'll put the track up on here so you can all download it and have a listen and a chuckle at yourselves.

Please check back to see when it's up here.
